verklärung christi ( 1440-42 ) ist ein fresko von der eines frühen italienischen renaissance-maler fra angelico . dies ist das fresko an der wand von cell 6 des convento di san marco in florenz . in diesem fresko steht christus auf einem felsen , präfigurierung seines aufstiegs aus dem grab . seine arme sind ausgestreckt und darin lässt er auch seine eigene kreuzigung ahnen . Er ist voluminös in eine skulpturale masse aus leuchtend weißen gewändern gekleidet , und ihn umkreist eine strahlend weiße mandorla . Sein blick nach vorne greift das auge des zuschauers nicht direkt an . am fuße des felsens hocken drei der apostel in ehrfürchtigen positionen , aber sie behalten die merkwürdige kontemplative loslösung vom drama der szene bei, das das kennzeichen dieses freskenzyklus ist . das fresco ( 181 x. 152 zentimeter ) ist jetzt im convento di san marco , Florenz .
